How
to check your size ~ We think the easiest way is to
take your dogs most comfortable collar and measure it
a) from the centre
of buckle to the very tip
b)
from the centre of the buckle to your dogs favourite hole.
For Example
Holly's collar = 20ins
Her favourite hole = 16ins
Therefore Holly's collar Size = Size 5
Or you can use a flexible tape measure. Place two
fingers on your dog’s neck where the collar would normally
sit. Then measure round both the neck and your two fingers. This
will give you a measurement for a comfortable fit.
Wider and longer collars can always be custom made to order. Please
contact us to discuss or go to Make
Me One and let us know what you want. NB: All the measurements
are approximate as collars do have slight variations.
Once you have your size you are ready to browse through our SHOP and see what’s available.

| Holly&Lil's Slim and Wide Collar Size Guide
All collars are available as "Slim" options or the signature H&L "Wide"
Miniwide or Standard Slim?
Top: Size 1 ‘Miniwide’
(Special lightweight design for teacup/mini breeds).
Bottom: Size 1 Slim collar
(Full Buckle and D ring - Ideal for terriers etc.)
Wide or Slim? All collars are available as Slims or as our signature Wides which are perfect if your dog has "the neck" to wear them. Narrow under the chin for the dog’s comfort, they’re wide on the back of the neck for our viewing pleasure! Holly and Lily love them as they show through their long fur. For greyhounds/lurchers, we make traditionally shaped collars as a bespoke option.

Top: Wide collar
(Wide part with D-ring lead fitting sits on back of neck.)
Bottom: Slim collar
(Full Buckle and D ring)

Holly&Lil's Fittings SIze Guide
Here at Holly&Lil we have "standard sizes" - so for
example a size 1/2 for a teeny Chihuahua is usually 1/2" wide,
with a half buckle - which means the wee one misses out on most
of our piped collars, which by the nature of their construction,
have to be 5/8" wide minimum. A tiny increase - but of course
that affects the size of the fittings - as we must use a 5/8"
full buckle, D Ring etc. However some customers know their dogs
would prefer a wider, or slimmer, collar than we hold in
stock - so to help you decide if a bespoke option would better suit
your pooch, we have photos of all the fittings below. Hope it helps.
Take your scale from an actual 50p piece, not from the size that the buckles are shown on your screen, as computer images can vary.
